Now that the University of Iowa Staff Council (UISC) nomination period has ended you may be asking yourself  what’s next? If your role falls into one of the Function groups where an election is being held, you should have recently seen an email from Staff Council letting you know that elections for function representatives via a Qualtrics ballot are now live through April 20. If your role falls into one of the Organization groups where an election is being held, you should have recently seen (or will soon see) an email from a HR representative with instructions for voting in that election.

Staff Council is comprised of 55 members: 35 representing job Function/combined job Function categories, and 20 representing the organizational unit/combined organization unit categories. With that, Staff Council nominations/elections follow two tracks; Function representative elections are facilitated by the Staff Council Election Committee.  Organizational representative elections which are handled through the organization(s) (generally facilitated by the Senior HR Rep). It’s important to note that if your job Function has an opening as well as your Organization you will be receiving two emails/two opportunities to vote in the election cycle.
