The University of Iowa makes a substantial investment in traditional benefits such as health and dental insurance, vacation, and retirement plans. Along with these traditional benefits, another advantage of working for the University is access to a wealth of resources, opportunities, and services for your personal and professional enrichment. Most are offered free of charge or at a substantially reduced cost for UI staff. Two we’d like to highlight this month are online learning resources offered through LinkedIn Learning and the Employee Discount Program.
LinkedIn Learning is a 24/7 asynchronous tool for employees and students who want to learn more about specific software and programs, or expand their understanding of key business, technology, and creative skills. It offers more than 100,000 tutorials, and can provide custom recommendations based on your goals.
The Employee Discount Program offers discounts and other incentives to university employees. There are a wide range of discounted services including travel related options (transportation services, lodging, entertainment), technology options (communication, computer hardware and software, and personal health and wellbeing (fitness, optical, spa treatments).
