The University of Iowa offers two matching services to pair non-native speakers with a conversation partner who speaks the language you're learning or wants to learn the language you speak.
The unique programs are designed to help you improve your foreign language skills through real conversations while fostering cultural exchange and building meaningful connections. To the extent possible, the programs will help to connect you with suitable partners suited to your language-learning goals and level.
To help you get started, check out our Guide for Conversation Partners, which includes meeting tips, conversation topics, and etiquette suggestions.
There are two ways to participate:
Practice a Foreign Language
Whether you're preparing for study abroad, honing your language skills for professional development, or simply exploring a new culture, the Language Hub is the perfect place to start.
