Biography

Glenda Smith has worked with the University of Iowa since August 2010, all in UI Health Care. Her positions have included Nursing Assistant, Service Excellence Ambassador, with her current role as a Training & Education Coordinator within the UI Patient Access Center. She has worked in this role going on 8 years, where she provides instructional and educational support to all scheduling staff, clerical staff, leads, managers, directors, and clinical counterparts to maximize Epic end user and organizational effectiveness. She has served as the UI Staff Council Education Committee Co-Chair going on 2 years, and is very involved with community outreach and service initiatives within the UI community. In 2018, she was instrumental in support and creation of the Volunteer Time Release Policy as a UI Staff Council Human Resources Committee Co-Chair. Glenda has previously served on the UI Staff Council Executive Committee as a part of her term. She looks forward to her 3rd term on council to serve and advocate for you.
