The Advocacy in Action newsletter is Staff Council’s official monthly communication, curated and distributed by the Communications Committee. It is emailed to over 9,300 professional and scientific staff members across campus on the first Wednesday of each month.

The newsletter highlights key initiatives, campus events, volunteer opportunities, council updates, and resources relevant to UI staff. It serves as a direct channel to keep constituents informed, engaged, and connected with Staff Council’s work and broader university efforts.

Advocacy In Action Newsletter:

Each issue often includes:

  • Council and committee updates
  • Calls for nominations or volunteers
  • Spotlights on staff accomplishments and events
  • Information on university-wide initiatives
  • Links to resources and professional development opportunities

Staff are encouraged to read and share the newsletter to stay up to date on matters impacting staff life at the University of Iowa.
