A new Staff Council year has begun, so what does that mean for you? It means that Staff Council, through the work of its committees, has recommitted itself to advocating for you in shared governance. All councilors are expected to participate on at least two committees; this requirement ensures a cross-section of staff are represented on the 12 committees of Staff Council. Each Staff Council term, Councilors indicate their preferences for serving on committees and committee appointments are made by Staff Council officers. The UISC President then selects committee chairpersons to carry out the charges of their committees. The Staff Council website lists all of the committees, their purposes and scope, and their members.
