The Well-Being and Mental Health Campus Collaborative was charged by President Wilson and is focused on embedding whole-person well-being into all aspects of the campus community.  In support of the UI’s new Strategic Plan 2022-2027, the Collaborative is tasked with implementing the strategies and tactics in support of Holistic Well-Being.

The UI Staff Council is supporting these efforts by making staff well-being a priority for this year’s Council.  Per Staff Council President Jackie Kleppe, "I continue to hear concern and interest in staff well-being and in re-engaging staff post pandemic whether fully in-person, remote or in a hybrid work setting. Therefore, I am prioritizing these areas of staff well-being and staff engagement during my tenure as president. I’m excited for Staff Council to work closely with the new UI well-being collaborative to address staff mental health, resiliency and our overall well-being."

Each month staff councilors will receive information on a wide range of well-being services and activities, a call to action in support of well-being at the local level, followed by an update in this newsletter to share with the campus community.  Topics covered will include mental health and resilience, nutrition, gratitude, sustainability, and more. See this issue's article on Kognito: At Risk, an interactive role-play simulation that builds awareness, knowledge and skills about mental health and suicide prevention

Working together in support of campus well-being, we can meet our goals and contribute to a thriving university community for all.
