The University of Iowa encourages all community members to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion in many ways, most prominently in the University’s Strategic Plan. As part of that focus, Staff Council established the Staff Award for Distinguished Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to shine a light on staff members who work toward achieving a welcoming, supportive and inclusive working environment. It is intended to celebrate those who embrace the value of diversity and recognize how it helps set the University of Iowa apart. The award is given annually to up to two recipients and each will receive a $500 gift. Nominations will open later this month and will be accepted through January 12, 2023, with winners announced in March. Nomination forms will be available via the Staff Council Awards web page.
