Hancher-Finkbine Medallions

The Hancher-Finkbine Medallion Selection Committee invites nominations of University of Iowa staff members to receive one of the prestigious Hancher-Finkbine Medallions. This is an opportunity to recognize a Merit staff member whose body of work has made a significant contribution to the UI community. The nominee must have a permanent appointment of at least 50% and employed by the University of Iowa for a minimum of ten years. The award alternates between Merit and P&S staff members.  This year the 2024 recipient will be a Merit staff member. 

Recipients will be honored at the 107^th Anniversary Finkbine Dinner on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge. The Hancher-Finkbine Medallions were established in 1964 to recognize learning, leadership, and loyalty. More information about the Anniversary Finkbine Dinner can be found here. Please encourage your colleagues to submit nominations on behalf of eligible Merit staff members.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, February 9, 2024. Nomination forms, including procedures and criteria, are available here.
