Any idea who represents you on Staff Council? The feedback we’ve received suggests for many staff members the answer is “no.” In response, we are launching a new Councilor Spotlight series in the monthly newsletter. The Spotlight series is intended to introduce Council members as well as provide a glimpse of the work that occurs on Staff Council. Why would you want to contact your representative? They can elevate your concerns or ideas, help you find information, and connect you with resources across campus. Use this link to find your representative: https://staff-council.uiowa.edu/about-staff-council/councilor-directory.
Anne Hinkle, Training Coordinator, Office of Animal Resources, and Staff Council Organization representative for Research and Oakdale. Hinkle joined the University of Iowa in 2008. This year she is participating on the Community Outreach Committee.
When asked what staff council project she is most proud of, Hinkle shared “ I am most proud of sparking the idea for Staff Council to adopt a section of highway to clean.  We have a standing contract now with the DOT and do highway clean-ups 2 times a year.  I am also very proud of working with my committee members to sponsor at least 1 volunteer needed community event every month and starting a yearly donation drive through our committee for the Pantry @ Iowa where we raised over 600 pounds of goods last year.”
