Biography

Abbie Beadle (she/her) currently serves as an Access Consultant in Student Disability Services within the Division of Student Life (DSL). Within this role, she supports students and faculty in understanding and implementing academic accommodations in the classroom. Another aspect of her role in SDS is advocating for accessibility in spaces across campus. In her professional work and personal life, she is strongly committed to removing barriers and challenges to create welcoming and effective environments.

Abbie grew up in central Iowa and attended the University of Iowa to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. She then received her Master of Education in Counselor Education and Student Affairs from Clemson University before returning to Iowa to begin her career in University Housing and Dining, also housed within the Division of Student Life. In addition to roles she's held on campus to date, Abbie has served on numerous committees including: the Inclusive Events Guide Leadership Committee, DEI Implementation Team, DSL Welcome Committee, and the DSL Awards and Recognition Program Work Group.

Outside of work Abbie enjoys spending time gardening, sewing, and questing for the best French onion soup in the Iowa City area.
