Alex has lived, worked, and learned in Iowa City for nearly his entire life. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies, both from the University of Iowa, he has gained experience across multiple professional fields. His background includes work in education within juvenile detention, schools for at-risk youth, and human trafficking rehabilitation programs. Alex now serves as a Senior Application Developer within Health Care Information Systems at University of Iowa Health Care, where he supports and optimizes the Epic electronic health record (EHR) for both UIHC and Community Connect partner sites. Joining the UI Staff Council in 2024, Alex aims to leverage his broad expertise to advance the university’s mission of excellence in healthcare and community service while representing a wide range of stakeholders.
