CLAS Organization Representative
Biography

Brad Carson [he/him] has the current working title of Research Technology and Compliance Administrator as a part of the CLAS Technology Services.  His office is in 214 Van Allen Hall and in this role, he supports research and student learning by assisting with new technologies such as cloud computing.  He also assists with navigating compliance and licensing issues mostly within the Physics and Astronomy department.  

Brad grew up in east central Iowa and attended the University of Iowa to receive his bachelor’s degree in computer science.  He then began his technical career in private industry and the federal government before coming to the University of Iowa in 2015 on the CLAS Linux Support team.  Brad is serving his first term as CLAS Organization Representative to the University of Iowa Staff Council.  Outside of work Brad enjoys spending time with his family.  He has a son in Scouting and enjoys volunteering with Scouts in addition to hiking, fishing, kayaking and other outdoor activities.
