Biography

Heather has been with the University of Iowa for the past 20 years, spending her first 3 years as a merit employee working in the Gastroenterology Department at UIHC before crossing the river to a P & S position where she currently serves as Interim Departmental Administrator in the Department of Physics & Astronomy in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). 

Heather currently serves as Past President of UI Staff Council (UISC) and has been a part of various committees across campus including Budget Review Board, Path Forward Steering Committee, Path Forward Strategic Plan Development Group, Shared Governance Council, Professional & Scientific Policy Review Committee, Legislative Group, External Relations Council, Central Services Advisory Committee (CDAC) for Research, Diversity Council, Mary Jo Small Selection Committee, CLAS Wellness Ambassador Committee, CLAS Staff Council Steering Committee, Employee and Labor Relations Review Committee, CLAS Staff and Recognition Committee, CLAS Admin. Training and Resource Committee and is serving her second term on Staff Council. Heather has also served several search committees including the Vice President for Student Life Search Committee and the CLAS Dean Search Committee

Heather received her BBA in Business Administration and Human Resource Management and as well as her MBA from Mount Mercy University.

She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her husband Nathan and two son’s Cade and Rhys.
