Lisa Polakowski Schumacher is a Senior Education and Compliance Specialist in the Human Subjects Office. She began this position 3 years ago after spending the majority of her career in health care and education as an advocate for people with disabilities and their caregivers. Lisa draws on her experience as a disability advocate to advocate for the protection of research participants. She looks forward to advocating for University of Iowa staff as a Councilor. After work, Lisa enjoys her time with her husband, two sons, dog, and long walks listening to audiobooks.
