Biography

Monica Madura has been a staff member at the University of Iowa for nine years, first as academic advisor in the Department of Communication Studies, and for the past seven years as Associate Director, Student Success and Graduation Initiatives, in the office of Academic Programs and Student Development, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She coordinates CLAS scholarships and the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, has taught Career Leadership Academy courses through University College, was a member of Student Success Team Early Intervention Committee, and served on the University of Iowa Staff Council for three years as a representative for Academic Support Services and Libraries. She was a member of the Staff Council Executive Committee in 2016-2017, served two years as Chair of the University Relations Committee, and was a member of the Path Forward Strategic Implementation Team. She has presented at regional and national conferences of NACADA, The Global Community for Academic Advising. Monica holds a Master of Business Administration, and is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology.
