Adopt a Highway Staff Council clean up event
On Saturday, October 28th, 20 members of Staff Council, their families, and friends met at 9 a.m. at F.W. Kent Park for the UISC Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up Event! UISC is responsible for a stretch of Highway 6 between F.W. Kent Park and Oak Hill Cemetery.
The group split into two teams and covered each side of the highway at the same time. It was cool in the morning but warmed up a bit as everyone got busy. There were several unusual items found; the most memorable was a baby blanket and polaroid photo of a mom and daughter.
Things wrapped up around 11:30 am and the group ended up with 15 full bags and a very clean two-mile stretch of Highway 6.
