Congress in 1978 passed a resolution creating Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week that expanded to a month of observance (May) in 1992 to coincide with the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in the United States (May 7, 1843). Today, we celebrate Asian Americans and Pacific Islander business owners and integral members of the workforce in a wide array of fields.
