Earlier this month, three Staff Councilors joined select organizations from the University of Iowa during Hawkeye Caucus Day (April 9th) at the State Capitol in Des Moines. Hawkeye Caucus Day provides colleges and organizations across campus an opportunity to showcase the important work that the University of Iowa is involved in, as well as to display our Hawkeye pride.
The Staff Councilors spent the day engaging with legislators, staff, and visitors, promoting the University of Iowa's values. They focused on workforce pipeline development, improving access to healthcare, cancer treatment and research, and healthcare research. University representatives shared student success stories, current research efforts, and advancements in education to highlight the value of the University and its far-reaching impact across all 99 Iowa counties.
Staff Councilors in attendance included Erika Holm-Brown, Jamie O’Meara, and Ashley Peters.
