Staff Council Spotlight: Xirui Chen
Organization Representative, Business and Finance
Meet Xirui Chen, Senior Accountant at Tippie Financial Operations and Staff Council Organizational Representative for Business and Finance. With two years at the University, Xirui has already made a meaningful impact through her thoughtful approach to collaboration and her commitment to fostering a supportive workplace culture.
In her role, Xirui serves a wide audience—including faculty, staff, department administrators, and indirectly, students and researchers. Her work is grounded in precision and service, but her passion lies in building bridges across departments and advocating for initiatives that enhance transparency and employee engagement.
As a member of the Staff Council, Xirui is eager to deepen her understanding of the diverse perspectives that shape the University community. She sees her time on the Council as an opportunity to grow as a leader, strengthen cross-functional relationships, and help drive positive change for staff across campus. She serves on the Elections Committee.
Outside of work, Xirui finds inspiration in people who lead with integrity and compassion. She thrives in collaborative environments where creativity and resilience are celebrated, and where every voice is valued. Her favorite local escape is the Devonian Fossil Gorge. She enjoys this peaceful, scenic spot where ancient history meets natural beauty. It’s a place that reflects her love of exploration and curiosity.
If she could choose a superpower, Xirui would pick teleportation. The ability to instantly travel anywhere appeals to her sense of adventure and efficiency—whether it’s for a spontaneous trip, a visit with loved ones, or simply skipping the morning commute.
