Our February Staff Council meeting will feature presentations focused on accessibility, recruitment and hiring strategies, and population health updates. Below is a preview of the campus leaders who will be joining us.

Accessibility Task Force 

Presenters: 

  • Maggie Jesse, Co-Chair, UI Accessibility Task Force
  • Tiffany Stevenson Earl, Senior Director & ADA Coordinator, Office of Civil Rights Compliance

Maggie Jesse and Tiffany Stevenson Earl will provide an update on the work of the UI Accessibility Task Force, including ongoing efforts to improve accessibility across campus. Their presentation will highlight current initiatives, institutional priorities, and considerations related to compliance and inclusive access for the university community.

Recruitment & Hiring Strategies

Presenter: Keith Becker, Senior Director, UI Wellness, Talent Acquisition

Keith Becker will share insights into recruitment and hiring strategies at the University of Iowa. This update will include trends, challenges, and approaches being used to attract and retain talent, as well as considerations impacting staff hiring across campus.

2025 Population Health Report

Presenter: Erin Litton, Senior Director, UI Wellness

Erin Litton will present the 2025 Population Health Report, highlighting key health trends from the 2025 Personal Health Assessment and what they reveal about the well-being of our campus community. This will include practical insights and how these findings can be used to intentionally integrate well-being into departmental cultures and everyday work. She will also showcase meaningful services designed to respond to campus data trends and support a healthier campus.

Staff Council meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:30–4:30 p.m. An email with the meeting agenda and Zoom link will be sent to your inbox on the Monday prior to the meeting.
