Meet Laura Croteau‑Lopez, a Registered Dietitian who has been serving the University of Iowa community for 10 years. In her role, Laura works closely with students who dine on campus—especially those with specialized dietary needs—ensuring they have the support, guidance, and accommodations necessary to thrive.

This year, Laura joins Staff Council as an Org Representative for the Division of Student Life; Student Health & Wellness, contributing her experience and commitment through work on the Human Resources Committee and the Merit Supervisory Exempt/Confidential (MSEC) Committee.

For Laura, serving on Staff Council is an opportunity to expand communication and awareness:

“I hope to create greater awareness of Staff Council among the constituents I serve.”

Outside of her work on campus, Laura is inspired every day by her husband and their two young sons, Theo (3) and Charlie (1). When she’s off the clock, you’ll often find her reading or spending time with her family—her version of a perfect day involves any fun activity with her boys.

If she could choose any superhero power, Laura says she would love the ability to view herself from others’ perspectives.
