University of Iowa Staff Council (UISC) recently concluded its annual food drive benefiting the Food Pantry at Iowa, and the results were nothing short of incredible. Thanks to the generosity of staff across campus, this year’s drive collected 780 pounds of food donations—more than double the total from our previous drive and the largest single food drive donation received by the Food Pantry this year.
Collection boxes were placed in locations across campus, making it easy for staff to contribute shelf-stable foods and pantry staples. The overwhelming response highlights the compassion and community spirit that define University of Iowa staff. Every donation, large or small, played a meaningful role in helping support students, faculty, and staff who rely on the Food Pantry.
This milestone achievement reflects the power of collective action and demonstrates how staff working together can make a significant difference in the lives of others. UISC extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, promoted the drive, hosted collection sites, or helped transport donations. Your generosity made this record-breaking effort possible.
As food insecurity continues to affect members of our campus community, initiatives like this serve as a reminder that support can come from simple acts of kindness. Staff Council looks forward to continuing this tradition of service and building on this year’s remarkable success.
