Our June Staff Council meeting will feature presentations focused on HR priorities, Staff Council leadership initiatives, volunteer engagement, and employee total rewards. Below is a preview of the presenters and topics that will be shared during the meeting.
HR Priorities & Staff Council Engagement for 2026–27
Presenter: Cheryl Reardon, Chief Human Resources Officer & Associate Vice President • Administration
Cheryl Reardon will provide an overview of University Human Resources priorities for 2026–27 and discuss opportunities for continued collaboration and engagement with Staff Council. This presentation will highlight strategic initiatives supporting employees and the university community.
Total Rewards Presentation

Trevor Glanz and Mike Kaplan will provide an overview of Total Rewards at the University of Iowa. This presentation will highlight compensation, benefits, and employee support programs designed to attract, retain, and support faculty and staff across the institution.
Staff Council Presidential Vision for 2026–27
Presenter: Sam Mitchell, Staff Council President
Sam Mitchell will share her vision and priorities for the 2026–27 Staff Council year. This presentation will outline key goals, areas of focus, and opportunities to strengthen communication, advocacy, and engagement across the university.
Introduction of the 2026–27 Executive Committee & New Council Members
Presenter: Sam Mitchell, Staff Council President
Staff Council will formally introduce the 2026–27 Executive Committee and welcome new council members beginning their terms of service. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the council’s leadership team and new representatives joining Staff Council.
Volunteer Highlights & Upcoming Opportunities
Presenter: Anne Hinkle, Community Outreach Chair
Anne Hinkle will share recent volunteer highlights and provide information about upcoming opportunities for Staff Council members and university staff to engage with community outreach initiatives and campus events.

Staff Council meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:30–4:30 p.m. An email with the meeting agenda and Zoom link will be sent to your inbox on the Monday prior to the meeting.
