Our September Staff Council meeting will feature presentations focused on University Human Resources updates and shared governance across the University of Iowa. Below is a preview of the presenters and topics that will be shared during the meeting.

HR Update: Employee & Labor Relations/HR Compliance Recertifications

Presenter: Todd Rent, Senior Director, UHR Employee & Labor Relations • UHR Administration

Todd Rent will provide an update on Employee & Labor Relations and HR Compliance recertifications, sharing information and guidance relevant to University of Iowa staff.

University Shared Governance

Presenters: 

  • Roxanna Curto, Faculty Senate

  • Jacob Payne, Graduate & Professional Student Government

  • Emily Cross, Undergraduate Student Government

Representatives from the university’s shared governance groups will provide updates from their respective organizations and share priorities and areas of focus for the 2026–27 academic year.

Staff Council meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:30–4:30 p.m. An email with the meeting agenda and Zoom link will be sent to your inbox on the Monday prior to the meeting.
