Liz Lara
Originally from the Central Valley California, Liz came to the University of Iowa as a first generation college student. After earning dual degrees in psychology and sociology, Liz stayed in Iowa to complete her M.S. from the School of Planning and Public Affairs with an emphasis on housing and community development. Liz currently serves as a program manager in the College of Public Health. She works with faculty, staff and students addressing collegiate climate and creating a sense of belonging. Liz has also been a member of the CPH staff council. She has served on the UI staff council before, during previous roles at the university and has been a member of the Human Resources Committee and committee on committees. Liz lives in West Liberty, IA with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, making carne asadas and watching Bluey with her kids.
