Amy Burklund, MS, serves as the Department Administrative Officer for Orthopedic Surgery at University of Iowa Health Care at the North Liberty Hospital. She received her Master of Science in Public Service from DePaul University in Chicago, where she began her health care administration career. Amy relocated to the University of Iowa in 2024 after over two decades of experience in academic healthcare administration.

Amy is excited to represent the health care functional areas on Staff Council, where she hopes to strengthen communication, advocate for staff well-being, and help create positive change. In her free time, she loves reading, CrossFit, being bad at making art, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their three dogs.
