Kayla Faust has been actively engaged in research since 2011, beginning her career as an undergraduate research assistant at what is now the Driving Safety Research Institute. During this time, she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in human Physiology and Psychology from the University of Iowa. Inspired by her early research experiences, Kayla went on to pursue a PhD in Public Health, also at the University of Iowa.

Currently, Kayla serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator and Data Manager for the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, where she continues to explore her passion for research across a wide range of disciplines.

Kayla has long been a dedicated advocate. In middle and high school, she participated in the Linn County Peer Review Court and served as a Congressional Page for the U.S. House of Representatives. As a student at the University of Iowa, she was an active member of the Anti-Violence Coalition and served as Chair of the Student Advisory Committee on Sexual Misconduct.

Hailing from Delaware and Linn County, Iowa, Kayla has cultivated both personal and professional connections with rural and farming communities. She currently resides in Iowa City with her husband, Jeremy, and their daughter, Hayden. Together as a family, they enjoy camping, kayaking, and exploring the outdoors with their dogs.
