Biography

Dr. Marie Adams is a Licensed Psychologist and the Assistant Director of Training within University Counseling Service on campus. In this role, she conducts individual and group therapy, engages in outreach with a variety of student groups and campus offices, and provides training and supervision for practicum students and interns completing their clinical training at UCS. She also co-chairs the Suicide Prevention Coalition on campus, a multidisciplinary coalition of faculty, staff, and community members dedicated towards promoting suicide prevention and reducing mental health stigma. Dr. Adams is an alumna of the University of Iowa and, like so many of her colleagues, came to UI for school and then never left. In her free time, Dr. Adams likes to read mystery novels, go hiking, and spending time with her friends and family in the region.
