Neda Barrett is the Senior Human Resources Director and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the College of Law. Neda obtained her Master’s Degree in International Business from Vaxjo University (now called Linneaus University) in Vaxjo, Sweden. She has also studied at the University of Malaga in Malaga, Spain and at the University of Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain and speaks several languages. She started working at the University of Iowa in 2006 at the Obermann Center and then moved to Colorado and worked at the University of Colorado. She returned to Iowa City after two years and worked at the College of Dentistry before joining the Law School. Neda is Swedish-Iranian and is currently living in Coralville with her daughter Lily (11) and son Henrik (8).

As a staff councilor, Neda is looking forward to working hard to listen to staff concerns, gather the information needed to diagnose problems, and push for solutions that make our lives and the University itself even better. Strengthening our efforts to diversify the staff and provide an inclusive work environment will also remain high on her list of priorities.
