The HOPEwalk is a local community walk supporting awareness and education on suicide prevention and those affected by this national health crisis.

UISC Councilors volunteered their time to help welcome new first-year and transfer students to the university at On Iowa! 2025.

UISC Councilors operated phones, taking donations that help support the work of the Children's Miracle Network at the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.

During the month of July, UI staff donated over 700 books and 1000 school supplies to our drive on behalf of United Way. Donations benefit children in Johnson and Washington county schools. Thank You!

Taking over 14 blocks in the heart of Downtown Iowa City, the annual block party is an event for all ages and specifically targets the feel of a community block party. All of the programming, activities, and entertainment are completely free to the public.

UISC has adopted a section of Hwy 6 by Kent Park. The Iowa DOT Adopt-A-Highway program helps increase public awareness of environmental needs along Iowa highways.

This annual fundraising event supports DVIP & RVAP crisis intervention services.

The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a student organization that provides year-round support to youth cancer patients and their families.

The Elmer L. DeGowin Memorial Blood Center was dedicated in December of 1981 in recognition of Dr. DeGowin's pioneering work in the field of blood transfusion and his many contributions to American medicine.
