The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a student organization that provides year-round support to youth cancer patients and their families. The Big Event is a 24-hour Dance Marathon where students assemble to celebrate the children survivors and remember the children who have passed away throughout the year.

The Elmer L. DeGowin Memorial Blood Center was dedicated in December of 1981 in recognition of Dr. DeGowin's pioneering work in the field of blood transfusion and his many contributions to American medicine.

Holiday Lights at the Lake was established as a community event in 2021 to become the legacy fundraising event for The Bird House, Hospice Home of Johnson County. Volunteers make it all happen from November 26 thru December 31!

Staff Councilors shared their talents and spread holiday cheer at the Hope Lodge, Iowa City's "home away from home" for cancer patients and their caregivers since 2008.

Breakfast of Champions is the annual signature event of the Residence Hall Activities Board and helps support students during Finals Week.

Staff volunteers help administer make-up and accommodated exams at campus test centers during Finals Week.

Open Heartland is a local organization that builds community by providing access to vital resources, fostering meaningful connections, and celebrating the diverse cultures that enrich our society.

Donations were accepted at the UI Health Care North Liberty campus thru December 19 supporting the North Liberty Community Pantry.
